Jaipur is traditional city and its full of historical heritage which is famous for its architecture and sculptures. It’s the capital of Rajasthan. Rajasthan is famous for “Rajwaro kaa seher”. There were many famous tourist places in Jaipur due to that thousands of Indian and foreign tourists came to Jaipur just to explore and get to know more knowledge about our great Indian history and heritage. So, today I will give you some knowledge about the famous 20 tourist places in Jaipur. Here, I visited when I was pursuing my master’s degree at Rajasthan’s famous women’s college, Banasthali Vidyapith.
(1) Hawa Mahal
Hawa Mahal is made up of red and pink sandstones and was built in 1799 by Maharaja Sawai Pratap Singh. It is an iconic Jaipur symbol called the “Palace of Winds”. There were thousands of small windows in Hawa Mahal at different angles which help to blow the cold breeze throughout the palace all time. When no wind is blowing in the city, on that time, there was a heavy cold breeze you will fill inside the palace. Every day thousands of Indian and foreign tourists came to visit Hawa Mahal and it comes in the most famous tourist places in Jaipur.
The entry timing in Hawa Mahal is 9 am to 5 pm. The entry fee in Hawa Mahal are Rs. 500 per person (for Indians) and Rs. 200 per person ( For Foreign Tourist).

(2) Jantar Mantar – Jaipur
Jantar Mantar is built in the 18th century by Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh II. Many astrological instruments were built with stones in big structures in Jantar Mantar just to observe the Astronomical phenomenon in Sky. Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh built this great iconic place because he has so much interest in observing the celestial movement and many different phenomena in the sky. There were many different types of Instruments in Jantar Mantar like measuring the exact time without a watch that work on rays of the Sun, tracking and locating major stars and constellations, declination of planets, celestial altitudes, and many more.
It comes in the most famous tourist places in Jaipur. The timing of Jantar Mantar is 9 am to 5 pm. The entry fee in Jantar Mantar are Rs. 50 for tourist tourists,, Rs. 15 for students (for Indians) and Rs. 200 for foreign tourists, and, Rs. 100 for foreign students.

(3) Birla Temple – Jaipur
The Birla Temple is always famous as ” Laxmi Narayana Temple”. This temple is situated on hills so its surroundings are so beautiful. Here, you will find Lord Ganesha, Lord Shiva’s tomb and in the main temple you will find iconic statues of Goddess Laxmi and Lord Narayana. The whole temple is made up of white marble and architecture is so historical and just the symbol of our Indian Heritage. Every day thousands of Indian and foreign tourists came to visit Birla Temple and it comes in the most famous tourist places in Jaipur. There were no entry fees in Birla Temple. The timing for Birla Temple are 6 am to 12 pm and 3 pm to 9 pm.

(4) Albert Hall Museum
The construction of the Albert Hall Museum started in the year 1876. It is a true representation of the Indo-Saracenic style of architecture and design. There were many historical sculptures, weapons, scripts, traditions, arts, culture, and many more kept in the museum so that tourists get to know about great Rajputana history. There was free entry for children below 7 years. Also, entry for student groups shall be free every day between 10.00 to 12.00 am on the recommendation of their respective Institute. There were pigeon feeding point just outside the Albert Hall Museum.

(5) Jal Mahal
Jal Mahal is a palace in the middle of the Man Sagar Lake in Jaipur city. The palace was originally constructed in 1699. It was later renovated and enlarged in the 18th century by Maharaja Jai Singh II of Amber. The depth of this lake is 15 feet with its low-lying areas having a depth of 4.9 feet. This Mahal is built with Redstone and the design were a combination of Rajput and Mughal architectural style. The evening view of this place is so mesmerizing.
There was no entry fee in Jal Mahal. The entry timings in Jal Mahal are 6 am to 6 pm. The main attractions of the Jal Mahal are calmness, camel riding, birds sound, and photography.

(6) The City Palace
This City Palace is the royal residence of the “Kings of Jaipur” from Jaipur. Its construction started when Jaipur City was established by Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh II. He worked on this City Palace when he shifted to Jaipur from Amber in 1727. The opening time of City Palace is 9:30 am to 7:00 pm. City Palace is a beautiful fusion of Mughal and Rajput architecture. The last successors ruled King’s royal family and lived in a private section of the City Palace. Photography and videography are only allowed in some sections of City Palace.

(7) Amber Fort
This fort is famous in Jaipur and it also was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in the year 2013 in the category of ‘Hillforts of Rajasthan’. This fort is the birthplace of Princess Jodha Bai. She was the princess of Amber, present Jaipur, and the daughter of King Bharmal. A few scenes of the famous movie JODHA AKBAR were also shots in Amber Fort. Every day thousands of Indian and foreign tourist visit Amber Fort just to explore our great heritage and get to know more about our Indian History and it comes in the most famous tourist places in Jaipur.

(8) Moti Dungri Ganesh Temple
It was built in 1761 under the supervision of Seth Jai Ram Paliwal. The temple is a popular tourist attraction in the city and is located a few steps from the Birla Temple. This is the famous Ganesh temple in Jaipur. There is the temple of Lord Hanuman just next to Moti Dungri Ganesh Temple. The darshan timings of Moti Dungri Ganesh Temple are 5 am to 1:30 pm and 4:30 pm to 10:30 pm. There were no entry fees in Moti Dungri Ganesh Temple.
History of Temple
In the 17th century, when the King of Mewar was returning home, he was carrying an idol of Lord Ganesha with him on a bullock cart. He declared that wherever the bullock cart first stopped, he would build a temple for the lord. The cart stopped at the foothill of Moti Dungri which became the site of the temple. Construction of the temple was entrusted to Seth Jai Ram Paliwal and Mahant Shiv Narain who built this temple in four years and it was completed in 1761.

(9) Raj Mandir
Raj Mandir is oldest movie theater in Jaipur, Rajasthan. It is Dolby(Atmos) screen situated near M.I Road. This movie theater iconic theater of Jaipur and very famous in India. It is founded in June 1976 and it famous for its interior designing which is very unique and beautiful in all over India. The movie ticket fare is also in reasonable cost, which can afford by any class of people.

(10) Sheesh Mahal
Sheesh Mahal is the most famous attraction point in Amber Fort for Indian and foreign tourists. The whole mahal has lakhs of mirrors engraved on the wall. Sheesh Mahal is also known as the “Mirror Palace”. It was constructed by Maharaja Man Singh in the 16th century. The entry fee will be taken once when tourists will enter the Amber Fort. There was no separate entry fee for Sheesh Mahal. The entry timings of Sheesh Mahal are 9:30 am to 4:30 pm.
History of Sheesh Mahal
In ancient times, the queen was not permitted to sleep outside. She desired to be able to see the stars while sleeping. As a result, the king asked his architects to design a mahal that would remedy the issue. The reflections of the candles in the glass ceiling mirror keep the space warm.
Tourists can no longer enter the hall of Sheesh Mahal, but tourists can admire the fantastic artwork on the Sheesh Mahal’s glass from the outside.

(11) Nahargarh Fort
Nahargarh meaning home of tigers. The popular belief is that Nahar stands for Nahar Singh Bhomia, whose spirit haunted the place and obstructed construction of the fort. Nahar’s spirit was pacified by building a temple in his memory within the fort. The visiting hours are – 10:00 am to 5:30 pm daily. Visitors would ideally take around 3 hours to complete your tour of the fort. The entry fee for Nahargarh Fort are Indians: Rs 50 and the Indian Students: Rs 5. As well as, for Foreigners it is Rs 200 and Foreign Students: Rs 25.

(12) Jaighar Fort
Jaigarh Fort was a centre of artillery production for the Rajputs. At the time of its manufacture in 1720, it was the world’s largest cannon on wheels of the Early Modern Era, but now it is home to the Jaivana. People who love history and panoramic views will love this historical Jaigarh Fort. It is believed that Kachwaha Dynasty used this fort to store their treasures. Legends have belief that the fort has chambers below the tank, where the loot from a successful siege by Maharaja Man Singh was hidden. It houses the world’s largest cannon on the wheels called ‘Jaivana Cannon’. There are various other attractions within the fort like Laxmi Vilas, Lalit Mandir, Aram Mandir and the Vilas Mandir. Jaigarh Fort is made-up of sandstones and is spread over an area of 3 km.
The Fort is open from 9:00 am to 4:30 pm daily. It is advisable to enter the fort at least 3 hours in advance to peacefully have a look and click photographs. Entry fee for Indians- Rs. 35 per person. The distance between Jaigarh Fort and Nahargarh Fort is 6 km.
(13) Chauki Dhani – Jaipur
Established in 1990, Chokhi Dhani began its journey as an ethnic village to promote the local heritage and culture that is indigenous to Rajasthan and India. It is a place where people could experience traditional artistry, Rajasthani culture and its delectable cuisine. Over the years, Chokhi Dhani Group has also ventured into Handicrafts and FMCG E-commerce segments under the brands Kalagram and Chokhi Dhani Dhani Foods respectively. Chauki Dhani is one of the famous tourist places in Jaipur due to above reasons.
The epic battle of Haldighati between the Mughals and the Rajputs was fought in Rajasthan. This battle of 1576 was won by the Rajputs led by Maharana Pratap Singh. Chokhi Dhani is famous for the re-enactment of this battle. The price of dinner at Chokhi Dhani for the multi-cuisine dinner buffet, adults will have to pay Rs. 1100 and for kids charge is Rs. 700.
(14) Sisodia Rani palace
Sisodia Rani Palace is a palace garden, located 6 km far from Jaipur city of Rajasthan state in India. It was built by Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh II in 1728. The place is famous for its multi- layered palace with fountains, pavilions, shrines, murals, watercourses, frescoes, scenic, paintings, and fountains. The architectural layout of the Sisodia Rani Palace is influenced by the Charbagh style of the Mughal gardens. The heritage garden is the largest, most interesting and impressive of all the gardens in Jaipur.
The visiting timing in Sisodia Rani Palace is 8 am to 5 pm. The entry fee in Sisodia Rani Palace is Rs 50 per person for Indians and Rs. 200 per person for foreigners.

(15) Vidya Dhar Garden
The Vidyadhar garden is one of the best maintained gardens of Jaipur. This garden is so close to Rani Sisodia Palace. Vidyadhar Garden is the best place for a nature lover, art lover and bird watcher because many migrate birds came here during winter season.
History of Vidya Dhar Garden
It was built in the year 1988 in memory of Jaipur’s chief architect, Vidyadhar Bhattacharya and was designed according to the principles of ‘Shilpa Shastra’. Shilpa Shastra is based on the Hindu principles and standards of designs, crafts, and arts which include paintings, pottery, making sculptures, stone murals, textile designing and many more formats.
Vidyadhar Garden is also famous for fountains, flower beds and well- maintained gardens. There are terraced lawns, lakes with crystal clear water, and majestic pavilions. There were no entry fee in Vidya Dhar Garden. The entry timing in Vidya Dhar Garden is 8 am to 5:30 pm.

(16) Central Park – Jaipur
Central Park of Jaipur was inaugurated in 2006 by Srimati Vasundhara Raje Scindia, and is the largest park with the longest jogging strip. The major attraction of the Central Park is the 206 feet high National flag which is the highest flag post in India. The flag itself is 28 feet wide and 72 feet long. This is India’s first day and night monumental flag and the tallest tricolour in the country and looks magnificent during the night when the flag is washed in colorful lights.
The 13 stone statues beside the National flag resemble the hedges. They are placed in such a way that they represent the constellation of Capricornus. The statues are also one of the prime attractions of the park. There were no entry fee in Central Park. The entry timing in Central Park is 5 am to 9 pm.

(17) Govind Devji Temple
Govind Dev Temple is one of the most sought after holy places in Vrindavan on account of its unique architecture. It was constructed in 1590 by King Man Singh of Amer, at a cost of ten million rupees. It was partially demolished in 1670 during the reign of Aurangzeb, and now it is only a three storied structure. The temple is open for devotees from 4:30 AM to 12:00 PM and 5:45 PM to 9:30 PM during summers and 5:00 AM to 12:15 PM and 5:00 PM to 8:45 PM during winters.
The historic Govind Dev Ji temple of Gaudiya Vaishnavism tradition is situated in City Palace of Jaipur in Rajasthan. The temple is dedicated to Govind Dev (Krishna) and his consort Radha. The deities of the temple were brought from Vrindavan by Raja Sawai Jai Singh II, the founder of Jaipur.

(18) Statue Cirle
The Statue Circle is a historical landmark in the Pink City and one of the famous tourist places in Jaipur. The Statue Circle is located at Jai Singh Circle , Ashok Nagar near to Central Park. The Statue Circle is a tribute to the founder of Jaipur – Maharaja Sawai Man Singh II. There were many small food stalls near statue circle were locals and tourists came to enjoy evening and night view of Jaipur.
(19) Ram Bagh Palace
Ram Bagh Palace is the 5 stars hotel near Hawa Mahal and also called as the Jewel of Jaipur, Rajasthan. Here, tourists will get authentic finest traditions of Rajput hospitality and full varieties of Rajasthani cuisine. The Rambagh Palace was built in the year 1835 AD for Kesar Badaran, the queen’s favorite handmaiden. It was further transformed in 1925 into a palace and was used as the residence of the Maharaja of Jaipur. Thereafter, in 1957, the Palace was converted into a plush hotel by Maharaja Sawai Man Singh II. The Taj Hotels Resorts and Palaces took over the Palace in 1972.

(20) Akshardham Temple – Jaipur
Akshardham temple of Jaipur is one of the recent constructions that are so beautiful. Akshardham temple is also called the Swaminarayan Mandir Akshardham temple. This not only known for its historical, cultural significance and significant heritage but also the temple provides various glimpses of the Hindu Gods to the visitors.
There were no entry fee in Akshardham Temple. The entry timing in Akshardham Temple is 7:30 am to 12 pm and 4 pm to 8:15 pm. This temple opens all day in week except Monday.
