We started the trip at 7 am from Hyderabad, Nizampet, and the way towards the beautiful journey of Srisailam. After traveling approx. 30 km, we entered the amazing path of Amrabad Tiger Reserve. There were many creatures in Amrabad Reserve like Deer, Snake, Sambhar Deer, Tiger, Peacock, Fox, Hyena, Leopard, and many more. According to the 2008 census of the Telangana Government, there were 12 tigers in Amrabad Tiger Reserve. There is a long way route to the tiger reserve, so on the way, you guys will get a glimpse of many wild animals, so keep eye on the roadside jungle.

Then, we moved ahead toward Srisailam Dam and Pataal Ganga. Rituals of Srisailam Jyotirlingas are to worship Lord Shiva after taking a bath in Paatal Ganga. During Monsoon or post-monsoon, all gates of the Dam will be open, and its view is so terrific. You can also enjoy boating in Paatal Ganga if you came post-monsoon because the water level was so high during post-monsoon.

If you want to stay in Hotel, please pre-booked your hotel room, because the crowd was so heavy most of the time in Srisailam. If you don’t pre-book your hotel, then it will rare chance to get accommodation in Srisailam. When we visited to the temple, the crowd was so heavy due to Ugadi Festival, so we didn’t any room in hotel. Many peoples were living inside tents in that hot summer day. The government supplied free water to them so that they could stay there for 1-2 days. We also fresh n up in tents and kept our luggage in car.

Then, we move towards the temple and queued in a general line and it took 2-3 hours to darshan. There was a special ticket too for Rs. 500 so you will darshan in 1-2 hours. We took a free prasad from Annapurna Bhawan, where you guys will eat prasad as food as much as you want. Prasad is so delicious and feels complete.

You also take a tour of the enjoyable ropeway car ride and look down at the majestic river and lush green beauty all around.

Darshan’s timings are 6 am to 3:30 pm and 6 pm to 10 pm. Mobile and leather materials are not allowed inside the temple. So, please keep your footwear and other useful personal materials in Cloak Room.

We didn’t find any vacant hotel due to heavy crowd. That’s why returned in the evening because due to the reserve area, the road will be closed from 8 pm to 5 am. So, if you guys want to return the same day, be careful with time. This road will get closed because at night animals came on the road which is so risky for animals and common people.
